2pm: A Children's Book is a Compass

Award-winning children's author Steve Heron hosts a workshop for adults interested in children's literature.

Children’s books are not necessarily about ending happily ever after; they are more about rousing hope. A children's book is a compass to help children navigate their world and foster hope.

Exploring realistic fiction and fantasy for children that interpret and comment on life and the issues they encounter.

Children's books are not just to be enjoyed by children. C. S. Lewis said, “A good children’s story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children’s story in the slightest.”
